Setting: Shintaro Island, Sea of Japan, Winter. Contested by Japan, Russia, China and both Korea's since WW2.
At last year's game, the Wong-Kamensky Corp (a Russian/Chinese joint-venture) landed military engineers to build an energy exploration facility on Shintaro island. They stumbled upon heavily armed drug smugglers using the island as their arms cache...and inexplicably Western Special Forces spying on the smugglers. This year, the story continues.
Winter 2009, and the landscape has changed. The energy markets have crashed with the world-wide recession. Facing huge losses, the Wong-Kaminski Corp. abandoned their gas exploration project. With the Russian Navy gone, the smugglers have returned, setting up hidden meth labs and arms cache's throughout the island. Its geographic location making it ideal for their drug and arms trade between Japan, Korea and China.
Taking a cue from JFK and the Cuban Missile Crisis, the new American President has authorized a clandestine show of force in the region. Small and remote enough so as not to threaten China or Russia but swift and decisive enough to show N. Korea that he is no Bill Clinton. The US has sent in a Special Forces lead Swift Reaction Force to Shintaro to wipe out the Smuggler cartel and their meth factories.
